Cadre - Emphemeral Pavilion
in collaboration with Zoe Meyburgh, Sara Gojani and Radina Georgieva
Through shape shifting into different functions and adapting to different occasions, Cadre is supposed to challenge our perceptions and invite participants to question what they see and make them explore deceiving appearances. Inspired by our perception of reality and our ability to adapt, our project serves as a metaphor for the multifaceted nature of reality. Through its multifunctional and transformative abilities, Cadre is supposed to encourage participants to acknowledge the idea that not everything is as it seems at first glance.
To make this Idea visual in our project we decided on a concept that is easily able to shape shift. Every box has gaps between the wooden beams which makes it possible for all the boxes to slot into each other. Cadre can transform into multiple shapes. Since we made this project for the product design department of the school, we decided to showcase a Horizontal shape that is functioned to gather participants and a Vertical shape that is supposed to exhibit projects of product design students.
